:: - PHYSICAL
Species: Domestic Cat
Description: A diminutive, muscular, curly-furred black tortoiseshell with 0-50% white spotting, with blue-grey / silver (opal-stained) eyes and white pupils. Tennessee Rex mutation.
Design Notes:
- CERTAIN SCARS ARE OPTIONAL; CERTAIN SCARS ARE NOT OPTIONAL. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
- REQUIRED SCARS: Two symmetrical small gashes in the shape of four-pointed stars, each just to the outside and underneath her eyes, and crudely marked vertical cross on her chest
- OPTIONAL SCARS: Multiple lashes against her back behind her shoulder blades, making an angel-wing shape
- Wraith’s eyes can be drawn multiple different ways.
REQUIRED PARTS OF THE DESIGN:
- Wraith’s pupils MUST be white, this is a part of the design
EYE COLOR CHOICES:
- EITHER: Both eyes can be the same color
- OR left eye is blue-grey, right eye is silver.
OPTIONAL:
- Add a rainbow opal-ish stain on top of the eyes as an overlay. You can use pictures of opal and moonstone as a reference for how this would look!
Disabilities:
- Chronic Migraines: Wraith struggles with chronic migraines. The attacks seem to be cyclical around the full moon, but she doesn’t like to show the pattern to other people. She often refers to this as a curse from the stars.
- Autism: You might wonder where Revenant gets it from, and you’d be right if you guessed it was from Wraith too. She also has hyperacusis, but does not necessarily claim it as a disability. Her social delays are the much more disabling part of her condition.
“Lo, the moon ascending,
Up from the east the silvery round Moon
Beautiful over the housetops — ghastly, phantom moon,
Immense and silent moon.”

Motherly in all ways, Wraith let vengeance rule her conscience in the name of protection so long ago. While she has retired from her fighting days, having taken battle seriously time and time again and won each fair and square, the older exile still has a masterful command of her body — having taken charge of every motion quickly as a young warrior of the Clans. She looks upon those days in shame, the ways she turned to violence for everything, having corrupted her very soul.
Tens of months of pressure have settled on her back — nightmares have invaded her formerly dreamless sleep — and she is worse off because of it. The already fragile mental stability of this enigmatic feline has always been dangerously close to exploding into hundreds, if not thousands, of shattered fragments, but multiple years of isolation have brought this twisted fate even closer to becoming a reality. Evalon’s Ascendence, at first impression, is fearful, quite fearful — of the things someone might do, or the memories that they might have of her, of nearly anything that could damage the way she views herself. You cannot mistake her weakness for kindness — and you cannot mistake her true kindness, when she decides to show it, for weakness.
The warm exterior she has now is often wiped away when many get down to brass tacks: She is ruthless and tireless. Nothing can stop this feline from achieving what she wants, with training being no exception. Those who she takes care of will be raised well: cruelly near-perfect, well-calculating felines with a sense of strategy and cunning that few seem to have. She is not always fearful, or cynical, or isolated — in fact, her kindness can move mountains for cats, given the chance. She is tireless, stopping at nothing to make something happen for her chosen cats, the kin that she so chooses to hold closer and closer.
Her mistakes are many, her love and affection is reserved for only the few — and when time ticks down… who knows what could be possible for a feline who has lost it all, and will stop at nothing to achieve what goals she chooses to pursue.
“In chaos, there is order. In order, there is calm. In calm, there is self-reflection.
In self-reflection, mistakes and imperfections could be found...
and imperfections must be made right, just, and perfect. Thus, I thrive in chaos.”
— Wraith
:: - HISTORY
Born to the young Sanctuary of Hope, Guardian Legate of the feared Legion, Evalon will never grow up knowing this gentle mother of hers. Her father is of the Clans, Fiveoath — a tom Sanctuary was never meant to interact with, beyond checking up on him after his fight with her friend Genesis. When she and her siblings are brought into the world, they are almost immediately discarded by a panicked Sanctuary: handed off to her Officers with an order to bring them anywhere but the Legion, and tell no one of their origin save for the names they are given. Evalon, Seraphim, and Diovolo find themselves in Adderclan, raised by an elder couple — former leaders of Adderclan itself, Fawnwish and Storm. Storm, recognizing these children as his own blood, agrees to take them in without question. The couple tells all it is a miracle.
Evalon grows up in Adderclan alongside Seraphim and Diovolo, kept blissfully unaware of where she came from. While her siblings slowly start to put the pieces together as they grow older, Evalon is kept completely in the dark. For her own safety — or so they said.
But names tell truths that lineage cannot hide. Evalon, Seraphim, Diovolo — rogue-names in a clan of warrior-names. The weight of a name that does not fit is heavy, and Evalon carries it like a stone in her chest. So she takes a new name — one given only to those she trusts, a mask for clan use. The rest of Adderclan knows her as Wraith.
She does not choose the name lightly. Inspired by her nursery-mate Spectrekit and the spirits she can hear, the spirits she can see — a Star Dreamer's curse that marks her as different long before she understands what different means — she takes on the title as a shield. Only her family, her mate, her trusted friends, and Emberstar herself are permitted to use her true name.
"I hear the great drums pounding,
And the small drums' steady whirring,
And every blow of the great convulsive drums
Strikes me through and through."
Her apprenticeship proves mostly normal — as normal as a cat who speaks to the dead can be. She disowns her rogue title publicly, becoming Wraithpaw. With Dragonroar — a self-proclaimed immortal deity and false prophet — as her absent mentor, she flourishes into her warriorhood. And she gains a quiet instability along the way, a crack in the foundation that nothing will ever quite fill.
At twelve moons, Wraithpaw becomes Wraithvengeance.
The clan laws that simultaneously restrict and expand her freedom add a small circle to her world: her adoptive brother Gulfwhistle, his former mate Myotiscrash, the sub-deputy's son Plaguecrest. They follow her out into the margins where the broad road thins and the narrow one begins. This newfound freedom also leads her to Malach — a Providence Intern turned loner, a cat she calls her "little fire," the messenger who can keep her worrying instincts in check.
Malach becomes her harbor. They become mates on a quiet night in the Mountains' Eye, promising to see each other constantly until one can finally join the other. Just before her kits are born, he joins Adderclan as Phantasmpyre — a name she despises, yet cherishes. A commitment fulfilled. Together they raise five kits: Haunting, Revenant, Arcane, Nightmare, Wicked.
"Lo, the moon ascending,
Up from the east the silvery round Moon
Beautiful over the housetops — ghastly, phantom moon,
Immense and silent moon."
As her kits grow, so does her worry — for one of them in particular. Revenant's Symphony refuses to play. He will not interact with his siblings. Even his speech is delayed, where the others learned to speak normally. He rarely speaks at all. Wraith, who has walked the Narrow Path her whole life, recognizes something familiar in her son — not the Star Dreamer curse she fears, but an invisible weight that no medicine cat will be able to name.
She sends him to Adderclan's medicine cats. They find nothing wrong. He is normal — which means no action will be taken. He will flourish in his own time. Just as she did.
She was wrong.
The world shatters in front of Revenant's eyes, and Wraith — whose name carries the vengeance she was given, who learned that violence properly aimed produces results — unleashes everything she has. She attempts the murder of Adderclan's medicine cat apprentice Malisonpaw, believing with the whole of her fractured heart that vengeance is the only language the Clans will understand.
She is exiled.
Evalon's Ascendence returns as her formal name, but the Clans know her as Wraith, and Wraith she remains. She stands in the wildlands, completely alone, a rogue with no clan and no path but the one that narrow road has left her.
Completely alone is no misnomer. She remains isolated for nearly a year, speaking only to those she deems necessary, or those who pry words out of her by force. The isolation is calm. Safe. But she learns, slowly, that isolation is not the same as the Narrow Path. The Narrow Path is a journey. Isolation is a cell. She had mistaken one for the other.
So she emerges. She goes to the City. She attacks Hypnotic Viper in the calamity that follows. She meets her children again, scattered as they are. She crosses paths with Dragoon. She reminds Adderclan that she still exists — a vengeance mission that leaves Shade, Red, Babbles, Enya, and others knowing that the cat they exiled has not disappeared.
Her story continues. The road does not end. There is no Promised Land to arrive at — only the walking, and the thorns between the broad and narrow paths, and the quiet strength of a cat who has learned that the Narrow Path was never her choice, but what she does with it — that is hers.
"And that is where our calamity lies. Those who promise that they are the eye of the storm, but indeed are the storms themselves."
