Personality

Negative traits: thoughtless, irascible, unrealistic.
Avalanche is capable of embracing changes in her life! Even if she's initially caught off guard by them, she can adjust accordingly in a short amount of time. This pairs well with how well she carries out what is expected of her. Her execution of said expectations isn't always uncomplicated, though. Some animals may be surprised when Avalanche acts compassionately. Unfortunately, Avalanche doesn't consider the consequences of her actions much. Furthermore, she has a terrible habit of bottling up her emotions. Her tendency to get angry easily combined with this habit often makes her anger appear bottomless.
Well, this train I ride on, is a hundred coaches long,
You can hear her whistle blow a million miles!
History
May 2017
Avalanche and Deluge were born to Moulin and Fjord. They had uneventful childhoods and trained to become aegis with the aid of their parents. Avalanche demonstrated a preference for hunting early on.
???
Soon after Divinity became the new Monarch, Avalanche's world came crashing down. The residents of the Acadian Realm were given quotas for killing not prey, but other animals. Avalanche shuddered as if a strong breeze ruffled her fur. To make matters worse, anyone who opposed Divinity was swiftly punished.
Avalanche gulped. What did Divinity hope to gain by doing so? Despite the questions that swarmed her mind, Avalanche obeyed her. The guilt she felt for her actions couldn't hold a flame to Avalanche's desire to keep her family safe. That didn't mean that she never tried to find loopholes, though.
Avalanche occasionally showed mercy in a way that made sense to her. After she injured another animal, she left them on the brink of death. If fate allowed it, then they would live to tell the story...right? Avalanche typically only did so while by herself. She had yet to do so around her loved ones. She cared for them deeply, but could she trust them to not rat her out? Avalanche wasn't sure.
Avalanche has, unfortunately, accepted her grim situation. Being forced to murder non-prey animals is horrifying, but choosing family over strangers is an easy choice nevertheless. The unfamiliarity of a potential future without Divinity terrifies her. Instead of worrying about something that may never happen, she chose to embrace the present. If she had a heart-to-heart with the right cat, she might reconsider. Avalanche doesn't have time to be concerned with the what-ifs, though.
August 2023
Avalanche, along with the other Acadian Realm bobcats, was ordered by Harbinger to kill guild cats. She told herself that a sloppy job was fine as long as she got it done. Avalanche was prepared to claim more lives.
...Until the very last moment. Seconds away from killing a Maple Guilder named Ichortalon, she asks herself something. How would she feel in these smaller cats' paws?
Frustrated, Avalanche yowled. The Maple Guilders' suggestions for her to run away tempted her. It felt too easy though. Was this all a trick so that they could avenge the cats she maimed or killed? They eventually convinced her. Avalanche was exhausted and wanted her life to be normal again. She willingly became a Maple Guild prisoner.
To her surprise, her wish was granted. But how could she ever pretend that things would ever be the same again?
December 2023
A few months later, she felt a bit better. Her family didn't condemn her for not wanting to fight anymore like she feared they would. Not all was well, though. Buried under her calm demeanor was anger rising like boiling water. She was furious about what the Acadian Realm bobcats were forced to do.
My life could have remained peaceful if it wasn't for Harbinger's actions. All of our lives, actually.
Despite her troubled thoughts, Avalanche still aimed for embracing the ups and downs of life. Too much of it was wasted on a needless war; nothing could be done to get that time back.
Later on, she came across one of the animals she spared during the war. Avalanche did nothing but stare as the thin, scarred fox approached her. They asked if she would finish the job and Avalanche insisted that she wouldn't. Despite the negative emotions that arose from the encounter, she let the fox have the squirrel that she caught because they need it more.
